Spooky Season is here! The start of October marks the end of our Summer here in the USA. It also marks the start of the Holiday Season for me. We are down to the last three months of the year and I am starting to think about decorating the house for all kinds of fun events.

Must-Have Halloween Decorations for 2024

While I do like to make some Halloween decorations myself, I also find looking for bargains online and having them show up at my door gives me great pleasure. I love browsing the store displays, but there is not often a lot of time for that in a busy schedule.

Here is my list of Top 10 Halloween Must Haves for 2024 – a good mix of affordable and fun items you can add to your Halloween arsenal.

Colored Light Bulbs

How about making your porch lights spooky by swapping out the light bulbs? Awesome idea, right? I took out my daylight sensor light bulbs and replaced them with purple light bulbs. I will keep it in for the whole of October. At only $8.99 for a two-pack, this is a very affordable and quick way to change the mood by your front door. You don’t have to stop there – these can be used on any inside light fixture and bring that creepy vibe indoors.

Hanging Bats

I love the DIY paper bats that I made for my window silhouettes. You can read more about making those right here. If you are short on time, you can order both the cutouts and some hanging bats online. I especially like these hanging bats since they can be used inside or outside (completely weatherproof). You can either hang them using the included fishing line or stick them to windows using the provided foam dots. As an extra bonus, they come with some very cool eye stickers. Get 18 bats in three different sizes for just $19.99.

Flickering Candles

Do you have some black candlesticks around the house? If so, you can easily add some Halloween-themed battery-operated candles to these. Pop in some batteries and choose the timer setting to have them light up automatically every day. Can’t be easier – and safer – than this! I like the spiderweb design for $18.99, but there are extra design choices available.

A Giant Spider

Who can resist a giant hairy spider? For $21.98 you can get this 8-foot-long giant spider and pose him against your house. Bend one front leg and hook it onto a gutter, or use some fishing line to suspend him from a window or tree branch. I’m sure you can think of some fun ways to incorporate a giant spider in your Halloween decorations.

A Giant Spiderweb

I can’t get enough of the giant spiders and have a nice collection of them by now. You can buy this giant spiderweb for $25.99, but I bet you would soon order a second one like I did. This is actually a spiderweb and spider combo. The webs can hook onto a gutter or a tree branch and if you have the perfect spot like I have for my two webs, you can create a tunnel effect for your Trick-or-Treaters. Best of all, they are lightweight and can fold up small for storage purposes.

Skeleton Bones and Skull

How do you feel about adding some bones as Halloween decor? This 28-piece find includes the skull, hands, backbone, and 24 other bones which you can display inside your house or outside in the garden. Combine these with other decorations (I’m thinking coffin) for that truly spooky decoration that will be the talk of the neighborhood. Another $25.99 price tag that will not break the bank.

Solar Eyeballs

This looked like a fun item and I can already picture them next to my front walkway. Solar-powered eyeball lights will be a great addition to your outside decorations. There are six eyeballs per stake. And the package contains six of these for $43.99. They can be used on the stake and stuck into your lawn or flowerbeds, or you can use them without and stick them in bushes or trees. The thin stems will move with the breeze and will certainly keep your visitors on their toes. There are two settings – the first mode is a steady light, and the second mode will twinkle.

Hanging Ghosts

I am a big fan of hanging decorations and what can be better than a hanging ghost and clown pair? These swinging skeleton ghosts are perfect to hang indoors or outdoors and can be used together or separately. This is more of an investment at $62.99 but will be a favorite decoration for years to come. These 3 feet tall figures with red LED eyes will move with the wind if used outdoors.

The Mocking Reaper

My final item is an almost 6-foot-tall animatronic reaper. Another decoration that can be used indoors or outdoors and is sure to give your Halloween visitors a good scare. Pose your reaper in the perfect spot. When touched, he will light up and horrify all with his mocking laughs. Not a bad buy for $61.09.

I would not wait too long to order these items! Prices will not remain low for long and you want to get these guys up as soon as possible so you can enjoy them all month long!

Happy Halloween
