Just a Girl from a Small South African Town making it Work in the USA!I am a regular mom, wife, organizer, shopper and general fixer of my family’s problems! I love to research DIY projects, watch HGTV, organize our “stuff”, read and more recently, trying my hand at gardening and blogging.
I’m from a very small town in South Africa called Garies. Even though I moved away after graduating from High School, I still see myself as the “Girl from Garies”. Growing up in a small town had a huge impact on my life and shaped me into the person I am today.
English is not my first language, as you might be able to tell from reading my blog. I actually grew up in an Afrikaans speaking household and community, where very few people spoke English. It was a mandatory part of our Education, but I’ve come to accept that mine will never be A+ material. At least you don’t have to deal with the accent here as well!
I moved to Atlanta, GA in 2011 with my husband Pieter, and kids Simon and Sidney. The “Big Move” provided me with some new challenges and adventures.
Turns out I love to write and take a lot of pictures to document our projects and adventures. I would like to share my past struggles, current adventures, future plans, and everything in between!
